Throughout the month of July, the participating Napa Green wineries will share their sustainability commitments and actions with you, their guests, and give back a portion of their proceeds to support the Napa Green nonprofit.

The Napa Green nonprofit is a global leader in sustainable winegrowing, setting the highest bar for sustainability and climate action in the wine industry. Napa Green facilitates whole-system soil to bottle certification for vineyards and wineries, and provides the resources and tools to continually improve.

Spottswoode is donating a minimum of $2,000 in the month of July to Napa Green.
During the winemaking process, Mumm Napa considers their impact on nature, land, and carbon emissions, focusing on sustainable vineyard management, biodiversity, soil health, energy, waste, water, and more. Taste the commitment to environmental stewardship and continual improvement in every sip.
Phifer Pavitt is a boutique family winery deeply dedicated to environmental stewardship, including a “recycled” 19th century tasting barn, insulated by 100% post-consumer recycled blue jeans, and almost every aspect of the tasting room is reclaimed.
Phifer Pavitt Wines will donate all tasting fees collected in July in support of Cheers to Climate Smart Wines!
Carneros Resort and Spa is a proud member of Beyond Green.

Domaine Carneros has a cutting-edge energy independent microgrid, combining solar, batteries, and EV charging. Taste the sun in every sip!
Etude has new water-wise landscaping irrigated with recycled water, and has expanded their solar array to cover 86% of energy use.
Chimney Rock has two women leading an all-Latino winemaking team, and everyone on their cellar team has worked there for 15+ years. Diversity and inclusion are part of their fabric.

M Vino has lightened their glass weight and eliminated capsules, greening packaging and reducing carbon footprint.
For every bottle sold in the month of July, they will donate $1 to Napa Green.

Pine Ridge is a member of International Wineries for Climate Action and has done a detailed emissions inventory. They have significantly reduced bottle weights to cut their carbon footprint.
In July, Pine Ridge designed a special Explorer’s Tasting and will donate a portion of the proceeds to Napa Green.
Chandon has planted a pollinator row every 10th row in their vineyard to provide bee & butterfly habitat, and eliminated the use of synthetic herbicides, focusing on cultivating healthy soils and biodiversity.
For every bottle of Los Carneros Vintage Brut, 2017 sold at the winery or online in July they are donating 20% of proceeds to Napa Green.

Clif Family won the 2020 California Green Medal award for Community Leaders. In addition to great benefits, Clif Family offers a $75 wellness stipend per month, and reimburses $100 per year in National Parks passes and athletic competitions. Beringer has dialed in their water and energy efficiency to impressive levels. They use a mix of rainwater and recycled water to irrigate their vineyards. And they are expanding their solar array to provide more than 60% of their electricity needs.

V. Sattui has brought sheep into their vineyards as natural lawn mowers and fertilizers (and a few guard llamas), and use electric tractors. They also have an Employee Rideshare Program that pays for the cost of commuting, and vanpools for farmworkers.
For every bottle sold of the 2021 Terra Forza Cabernet Sauvignon, V. Sattui Winery will donate a portion of the sales to Napa Green.

Napa Green’s vineyard team is trained to develop regenerative, whole-farm Carbon Farm Plans (CFPs). These plans review all of the current beneficial practices that are increasing soil and ecosystem health and storing carbon, and identify additional opportunities to regenerate the soil and vineyard ecosystem and simultaneously maximize carbon capture in a given property. Each vineyard’s goal is to become carbon neutral (or negative) and increase the resilience of vineyards, businesses, and our community.

All of our members are committed to using at least 60% renewable energy, whether through on-site solar and other renewable sources or by working with @mcecleanenergy to access clean power through the grid. The impact? Over 1.2 million pounds of CO2e saved by wineries and vineyards in just one year. To put that into perspective it’s the equivalent to offsetting the emissions from driving over 1.5 million miles in a typical gas-powered car!

Napa Green Certified Vineyards implement climate-smart burn practices, such as Conservation Burning, Flame Cap Kilns, and Air Curtain Burners. These practices reduce smoke and emissions and create biochar. Biochar is re-fossilized wood that provides long-term carbon storage.
